Sweden drops it's investigation into Julian Assange rape charge

Wilikleaks’ founder/Pamela Anderson boyfriend may soon get to leave his exile.

Sweden is dropping its rape investigation of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. The BBC says Sweden's director of public prosecutions filed a request to the Stockholm District Court to revoke the arrest warrant against Assange. Assange has always denied the rape allegations.

He's been living in exile in the Ecuadoran embassy in London since 2012, trying to avoid extradition to the U.S. and fearing that if he was sent to Sweden he'd be extradited. Earlier today, WikiLeaks tweeted that the UK has refused to confirm or deny whether it has a U.S. extradition warrant for Assange.

Assange could face charges here for leaking classified documents to the public.
