25 year old Kara McCullough was named Miss USA last night. Some thought she had blown her shot when she was given the question 'is healthcare a privilege or a right'? “I’m definitely going to say it’s a privilege. As a government employee, I’m granted health care. And I see firsthand that for one, to have health care, you need to have jobs, so therefore we need to continue to cultivate this environment so that we’re given the opportunities to have health care as well as jobs for all Americans worldwide.”
Kara was born in Naples Italy, the daughter of a U.S. Marine. She grew up all over the world. She graduated from SC State University and moved to D.C. to become a radiochemist at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
