Customer builds food server a new house in SC

posted by Kelly Nash -

Bryan Smyth met Shakeel “Shack” Williams when he was working at Chick-fil-A a year and a half ago and he was so impressed and inspired by the young man, the two became friends. And over time, Smyth learned that Shack has sickle cell anemia and his family has struggled with medical bills, forcing them to live in a small trailer in McClellanville, South Carolina.

Smyth started helping Shack’s family by paying medical bills, but after driving him home one night, the title agency president decided to do more. So he’s having a new home built for his favorite restaurant server. They’ve already demolished the old trailer and the new house is under construction now.

And it’s Shack’s kindness and positive attitude that prompted Smyth to help his family. “He has this sort of natural humanity that just shines through in everything he does, Smyth says. And Shack says this incredibly generous gift is “like a blessing.”
