Garbage truck crew throws amazing party for autistic boy

Most kids want a party to celebrate their birthdays, but when Rocco Cullen asked his parents for one, they were surprised. The six-year-old has autism and didn’t ever speak a word until a year and a half ago. He hasn’t ever shown interest in having one before, so when he asked for a garbage truck cake, they made it happen.

The Spring Hill, Florida family threw their son a “Birthday Trash Bash” to honor his request. Rocco’s mom, Stephanie, called Brian Araniecke with Republic Services, their trash collection company, and coordinated their help with the festivities.

The company pickup truck made a big entrance and let all the kids at the party take turns checking out the garbage truck. Rocco got lots of birthday gifts and goodies, too. Thanks to this thoughtful crew of garbage collectors, this boy got the party he wanted and loved it.
