Southeast police looking for couple on killing spree

William Boyette and Mary Craig Rice are believed to have started their crime rampage on January 31 with the deaths of two women in a motel. They then allegedly killed another woman in Lillian, Alabama.

Yesterday, Boyette and Rice are said to have broken into a home and shot a woman near Pensacola and stolen her vehicle. The woman survived and her two-year-old son was unharmed.

Now that they have a vehicle they could be anywhere in the Southeast today.

It was originally believed that Rice may be a victim and not a suspect, but officials have changed that thinking. Boyette, 44, had a long history of violent crimes leading up to the homicides over the past week. Arrest records show a consistent violent pattern in which Boyette is accused of attacking girlfriends, threatening to kill them and on numerous occasions allegedly beating or stabbing them until they called for help.
