A pizzeria owner in Queens is being hailed as a hero after stepping in during a tense confrontation with a man armed with a box cutter. Louie, who owns Louie’s Pizza in Elmhurst, says the man first came in demanding food and was given a slice—but later returned more aggressive, allegedly threatening an employee during the dinner rush.
With about 15 customers inside, Louie didn’t hesitate. He tackled the suspect, who crashed into the glass storefront door, shattering it. Police officers arrived quickly, arrested the 34‑year‑old man, and recovered the box cutter. He’s now facing charges including menacing and criminal mischief.
