CDC And FDA Recalling Cucumbers in South Carolina

Cucumbers are being recalled in connection to a multistate salmonella outbreak and now it's being expanded. The CDC and FDA warned last week that cucumbers grown by Florida-based Bedner Growers and distributed by Fresh Start Produce Sales had been linked to more than two dozen illnesses across 15 states including South Carolina, California, Florida, Illinois and New York. Related recalls have been issued impacting products sold at stores including Walmart, Kroger, Roundy's, Harris Teeter, and Weis Market. Among the brand names recalled are Snowfruit and Snowfox Products. Officials say retailers should notify consumers who may have bought the tainted produce and if consumers don't know the source of cucumbers, they should throw them away.
