When it comes to swearing, the United States is f…ing awesome! Australian linguists scoured the Global Web-Based English Corpus to “better understand how people might employ naughty words in their written communications.” That database spans 20 countries, over 340K websites, and contains more than 1.9 billion words. A grand total of 597 “vulgarities” were singled out, and after all the data was analyzed it was learned that “the United States sets the bar for dirtiest mouths,” with Great Britain, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Ireland following behind.
