You're Not Stealing Our Taco Truck!

On Tuesday morning, the Tacos La Piedad food truck was stolen from its usual spot on Northgate Boulevard in Sacramento. Security footage shows at least two suspects breaking into the truck through an emergency exit and driving it away. After discovering the theft, the family behind the long-running taco truck, which has been in business for 25 years, turned to social media for help.

Owner Johnathan Quintero posted about the incident online, and people freaked!. Within hours, there were groups actively searching for the truck.

CBS News reports that the truck was spotted in Del Paso Heights, about six miles away. Johnathan and his team rushed to the scene and waited for police to arrive, confirming the truck was mostly intact except for a few missing items, including a soda cooler.

The food truck owner says he’s grateful for the community’s support and that the truck was back in operation just a few hours later than normal. He’s since added some new security measures, including extra locks. He adds that it’s been meaningful to see that people “really have our backs” during a challenging moment for the business.
