3 year old Bridger Peabody was staying with his “GiGi” Sharon Lewis while his family was at the hospital with his older sister, and as they approached the house, Lewis tripped, fell off her walker & hit her head on the corner of a cement step. She was conscious but bleeding pretty profusely. They tried yelling for help because they saw a neighbors light on but after about 5 minutes Sharon realized no one could hear them.
"I said, 'You know what? You’re going to have to go out to the car and get my phone. He said, 'It's too dark, GiGi.' I said, 'I know, but you're going to have to be brave. Jesus will help you.' "
Bridger tells KUSA-TV "I was scared outside in the really dark".
Bridger pushed through that fear and got back to her car, grabbed her phone and brought it to his Gigi. Help was then on the way.
Sharon says "I call him a hero. He goes, 'No. I’m Bridger.' He’s not quite sure what a hero is, I think, but he definitely is."
