We all grew up learning the alphabet through the ABC song. So much so that if you ask most adults to tell you which letter comes after another (e.g the letter T answer U) they will sing their way to it.
The song has pauses between "G," "P," "S," "V" "X" and ended with "Y and Z."
Some educators feel that the LMNOP part of the song is too difficult for children to enunciate. I guess they're concerned that if it's too hard to sing they wouldn't learn it. So some schools have now changed the song. Same melody but tweaked the rhythm to slow down the LMNOP.
