In honor of the 2025 Academy Awards this Sunday (March 2nd), a new report highlights the Oscar nominees of the past decade that were highest-paid for their roles. Casino.org & Digg.com did the number crunching to determine which stars earned the most per minute on screen.
- To find the highest-paid nominees, the site analyzed revenue data from all Oscar-nominated films from 2015 to 2025, in the Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories.
- Casino.org used the database Screen Time Central to determine earnings per minute on screen for each nominee.
- They found that just two of the 10 highest-paid Academy Award nominees on the list are women, Meryl Streep and Octavia Spencer.
- On average, the Oscar-nominated men have made $99,998 per minute of screen time over the past 10 years, while women have made $72,839. That leaves a pay gap of $27,159.
- So, who is the highest-earning Oscar nominee of the last decade? Bradley Cooper, who made $591,856 for each of the 84.48 minutes he was on screen in “American Sniper.”
- On the flip side, Andrea Riseborough, nominated in 2023 for Best Actress in the indie movie “To Leslie,” made just $403 per minute on screen. That’s the lowest of all nominees for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress since 2015.
The Top 10 Highest-Earning Oscar Nominees Per Minute On Screen
- Bradley Cooper - $591,856 for each of the 84.48 minutes on screen for “American Sniper”
- Joe Pesci - $461,148 for each minute of 43.37 minutes on screen in “The Irishman’
- Will Smith - $443,607 for each of the 91.17 minus on screen in “King Richard”
- Ryan Gosling - $431,332 per minute for the 28.98 minutes on screen in “Barbie”
- Bradley Cooper - Appearing once again, this time for “A Star Is Born,” where he earned $419,030 for each of the 95.22 minutes he was on screen.
- Matt Damon - $403,096 for each of the 62.02 minutes on screen in “The Martian”
- Al Pacino - $370,575 for each of the 53.97 minutes on screen in “The Irishman”
- Meryl Streep - $353,153 for each minute of the 46.17 minutes on screen in “The Post”
- Octavia Spencer - $314,848 for each of the 20.65 minutes on screen in “The Shape of Water”
- Ryan Gosling - $300,250 for each of the 74.93 minutes on screen in “La La Land”
