He Turned The Car Around And Saved A Family

Dean Arp, a seven-term state representative from Charlotte, was driving to Raleigh last Monday when he saw smoke coming from a mobile home. He didn't see anyone outside the trailer so he turned around, drove back and ran to the door yelling fire. No one came out but when he got close enough he could hear a woman yelling "help".

WBTV-TV reports that it was a 77 year old woman in a wheelchair.

There were 2 other Reps in the car who discussed the situation. Mark Harris said "not everyone would have the courage to step up and get engaged. Dean clearly has a hero’s heart". Representative Tim Moore shared that the the woman’s wheelchair as "as hot as a pan on a stove" when he rescued her.

While everyone was thanking Dean he said "I give all credit to God. Something told me to look in that trailer park. Something told me to circle back. That lady wasn't suppossed to meet her maker on that day, for whatever reason He still had more for her on this earth and so I praise Him for using me".
