Columbia DoorDash Driver Saves A Life

Last Tuesday around 11:15 AM Kennis Goodman was picking up his first DoorDash order of the day at the Walgreens on Devine St in Columbia when he saw a man being attacked by another man with a knife!

"Someone had just got tackled and then that same person then got stabbed. I dashed over and kicked the big guy off that individual and started tackling him and we scuffled for the knife."

Chief Skip Holbrook says the man Kennis was fighting with was 47 year old Jermaine Nedd. Nedd is a big guy at 6'1" 235 lbs but his size and his knife didn't dissuade Kennis in the least! “If i didn’t take action, I don’t know what would have happened. That random person could have been me, had it been me it would have been everyone else in the store so I'm glad I was able to stop him but it was God protecting and shielding me so I was able to do his work.”

Kennis was able to hold him down till Police arrived Nedd was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Regarding the victim Kennis said “I haven’t been able to visit him in the hospital because I think he is still in intensive care but I am in contacts with his brother in terms of his health so I hope he makes a speedy recovery."

“I don’t want to sit around here and talk like a hero but i do want to do god’s work. I'd also like to thank everyone for all the nice things they are saying".
