Female customers are venting their frustration with their experiences with male Instacart or DoorDash shoppers. Samantha Riccardi recently posted about a DoorDash order that a guy filled and only one of the five items was right. In her now-viral video she shares how annoyed she was, telling the CEO of Doordash, “I’m begging you to make an update on your app where I can request a female shopper.”
So, what’s the problem with dudes doing the shopping? Riccardi offers her theory, “I could say, whether they’re my friend or not, that straight men do not pay attention to detail.” She explains that they’re probably just shopping the way they would for themselves, not realizing their substitutions are not equal swaps, or just not noticing the details and getting items wrong. Comments on TikTok from other women prove hers is a fairly common experience.
