He Couldn't Believe Who Owned His Favorite Bakery

Vamarr Hunter lives in Chicago and likes to treat himself to delicacies at the "Give Me Some Sugah" bakery. Vamarr had what he considered a normal life till he turned 35 and as ABC 7 reports he was shook to discover he had actually been adopted. He began visiting the bakery more and would often get a snack and sit there doing research on his case. He desperately wanted to find his birth mother. As he worked through sending emails to agencies he even submitted a DNA test that brought back potential candidates. One named jumped off the page! Lenore Lindsey owns the bakery. He asked her if she had ever put a baby up for adoption. She had. When she was 17 she didn't want an abortion but also had no way of raising a child. She had no idea that she had basically been given the gift of watching him grow up a few blocks from her and that for years they had been speaking weekly as he became one of her best customers.

Following the reunion, Hunter stepped in to help run the bakery during a period when Lindsey was facing health challenges. Despite having no prior experience in baking, he’s leaned into the role, and his mother says he’s excelled, especially with his pound cakes. Lenore has learned she has 4 grandchildren who are thrilled to help as well! Vamarr has met other family members he never knew, including a sister and a large extended family. He’s now focused on keeping the bakery in the family, possibly passing the business on to one of his four children when he eventually retires. He’s making the most of his new family ties, saying that while lost time can't be reclaimed, the present holds opportunities for meaningful connection.
