ER Worker Says Small Gift Turned His Night Around

A worker in the ER was having a bad night. The shift had been overwhelmed with patients. He said it felt like working in the MASH unit. On top of that he had broken up with his girlfriend a few hours earlier. "I was having a horrible night". Then an 80 year old escorted his wife in who was having chest pains. "Obviously he wasn't have a great night either, but after they took his wife back he sat there and saw me with probably a pretty obvious bad attitude on my face. Rather than focus on his own problems he decided to focus on making someone else's better".

What the elderly gentleman did was walk up to the stressed employee and say "I want to thank you and all of your co workers for how hard you work to save people's lives". That was nice but I'm not sure it would have turned the night around. Then he said "I have a small gift for you if that's OK". He reached into his pocket and pulled out what appeared to be a coin but it was made of wood. He said it's a TUIT Coin. I looked at it and sure enough it said TUIT across the middle. I said 'thanks but what is this'?

He said it explains on the other side. So I flipped it over and it says; "This is a ROUND TUIT. Guard it with your life. It could help you be more efficient. For years you've heard, 'I'll do it as soon as I get a Round Tuit.' Now that you have your own, you can accomplish all those things you put aside until you got this ROUND TUIT."

I laughed out loud and said thanks. He simply said "You're welcome. I was hoping to brighten your night up even if it was for just a moment. You folks are doing such great work I just wanted to do what I could to pay you back".

I didn't even get his name but he turned my whole night around in less then a minute".
