Someone Has Donated A 1 Of Kind Pair Of Air Jordans To Charity

The Portland Rescue Mission, found some special shoes during a routine sorting of donations.

They are solid gold colored Air Jordan's. The workers pointed them out to the director of the mission. He contacted Nike to see what they knew about them.

Tinker Hatfield, the designer of the Air Jordan 3, visited the shelter to confirm the authenticity of the shoes, which were originally commissioned by filmmaker Spike Lee for the 2019 Academy Awards. Hatfield also contributed a replacement box and a signed design proof to accompany the sneakers, increasing the historical and collectible value of the shoes. It’s unclear how the valuable sneakers ended up in the donation bin, adding intrigue to their story.

The shelter plans to auction off the one-of-a-kind sneakers through Sotheby's auction house, with all proceeds benefiting Portland Rescue Mission's efforts to help those in need. The auction is expected to raise up to $20-thousand with bidding open until December 18th.
