Green Berets Welcome First Woman Ever To Their Ranks

The United States Army Special Forces aka the Green Berets were founded June 19th 1952. It's for the best of the best. There are a little over 1 million people enlisted in the army. There are about 70-thousand women serving in the U.S. Army. There are 7000 men serving as Green Berets. Today we can make that 7000 men and 1 woman.

The National Guard soldier completed Special Forces training to earn the honor. Her name and biographical information is being withheld for security reasons.

As you might recall, the Pentagon opened up all combat jobs to women in 2016.

Before the graduation was official, Lt. Gen.Fran Beaudette, the Commanding General for U.S. Army Special Operations Command congratulated each soldier on their "ability to meet the baseline standards and competencies" of the regiment. In other words, this newest Green Beret didn’t have any corners cut for her.Congrats whomever you are!
