Vandals damaged property at the Church of the Resurrection in Oklahoma City and this report from KFOR shows that people in the community have had enough.
The vandals carved a swastika into a picnic table and tore the benches off their stands.
Someone posted about it on Facebook and about half a dozen people in the area who aren’t affiliated with the church decided to pitch in to do something about it. Shaun Pryor was one of the volunteers who tried sanding the swastika down and when that didn’t work, he went out and bought a new table for the church. After his act of kindness, community members bought two more tables.
“We’ve had enough division in this country, in this state, in this city lately that I think we needed something positive,” Pryor says. “The Deer Creek community, we don’t play, we come together. This isn’t black or white, this is one of those stories where it’s like, ‘this is wrong.’ I’m righting this wrong because this sucks. This is what we’re supposed to do as human beings, let’s just make it right".
The Rev Sean Ekberg said; " I think everyone’s been looking for God right now, and God’s very apparent and that happened here, and it’s beautiful, it really is beautiful. Good nature has not left humanity, but it needs to be highlighted more”
