Cop Saves Life At Defund Police Protest

Talk about irony! A mom and her 11-month-old son were at a defund the police protest in Palmdale, California, when the baby started choking. A video shared this week by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department shows Deputy Cameron Kinsey rushing to help the baby boy who was in “physical distress,”according to officials.

It shows the frantic mother carrying her son across the street to a supermarket, where law enforcement officers were stationed during the protest. Kinsey is then seen rushing toward the infant before taking him into his arms. The Deputy is able to open up the airway so the boy can breathe again before paramedics arrived and took him to the hospital.

It turns out, the boy had swallowed a coin, which lodged in his throat and blocked his airway, the department reports. They explain, "It was Deputy Kinsey who opened the airway with the mouth sweep procedure and turned the coin sideways, allowing air to pass through.” When Cameron was asked about his feelings on the protest he said "None of that other stuff matters. Just the baby.”
