Grandpa Tells Family They Can't Have 2nd Child While Living With Him

A grandfather shares on Reddit that after his eldest son lost his job, he invited him, his wife and their child to live with him and his wife, hoping it will help them get back on their feet until they both were able to find new jobs. Well, it’s been two years, they have found jobs, and while they cover their own expenses, they don’t pay rent, and it doesn't look like they plan to move anytime soon.

That’s why the man was pretty shocked when the couple announced they were planning to have another child. Grandpa wasn’t exactly happy, not because he doesn’t want another grandchild, it’s just that he and his wife feel they shouldn’t be doing that until they find a place of their own. He told them if they want another kid they have to move out, noting, “To me, if they can afford another child, they can afford to move out."

Well, the couple was rather insulted by the ultimatum, insisting the grandpa has no say in their decision to have another child, although grandpa insisted that he does if they are living in his house. The OP wonders if he’s being too harsh on his kid, and most people agree that he isn’t.
