Family Keeps Hope Alive And Is Finally Reunited With Dog Lost In Tornado

A Tennessee family has been reunited with their missing dog after more than a month. Faith and Eric Johnson’s Australian Shepherd, Bella, disappeared after a tornado destroyed their Cookeville home on March 3rd. The couple says Bella alerted them just before the tornado hit their house, giving them time to get the entire family in the bathtub.

Their house was blown away around them and took Bella with it. Faith broke several ribs hanging on to her 2 kids and her husband had several injuries after he was blown about 100 yards away. People said Bella must have been blown thousands of yards and was no doubt killed. They’ve been visiting neighborhoods to look for her. Then some people in their neighborhood started telling them that had seen Bella! A friend set up cameras on a fence and eventually captured Bella coming out to eat food she’d set out. And after 54 long days of looking, the Johnson's have been reunited with Bella!

“This is amazing to have her back with us,” Eric says. “This dog saved our lives. She’s the one who gave us a chance to survive and all we want to do is love on her"!
