To celebrate her 40th birthday,Shannon Schultz spent the 40 weeks before it doing a selfless act every week. Now it’s five years later and she’s marking her 45th birthday by doing 45 acts of kindness over the 45 weeks leading up to her big day.
She started around March 15th with her first coronavirus-related good deed by delivering Shamrock cookies to ER doctors and nurses at a local hospital. Since then, Shannon has completed pandemic-related acts of kindness, including crafting and mailing bracelets to bring smiles to those quarantined at home and assembling and distributing care kits for 100 of her neighbors.
“I hope when this is over that we all take the simple, slowed-down improvements we've made at home and carry them into the future with others we love and miss right now,” Shannon explains. “Until then, I hope to inspire others to connect and be the reason others smile—from a safe distance.”
You can follow all of her adventures, and perhaps get inspired to do some good deeds of your own, on her blog.
