Woman On Verge Of Winning Ironman Loses Because Her Husband Tripped

The very first virtual Ironman VR Pro Challenge took place over the weekend. It's a weekly competition being held during the coronavirus pandemic-and former Ironman champ Mirinda Carfrae was kicking butt from her living room in Boulder, Colorado.

The race was being aired live on Facebook and she was in second place and about to move into first... until suddenly she wasn't. Her bike shut off. Turns out her husband, fellow triathlete Tim O'Donnell, had come into the room carrying his trophies in hopes they would motivate her. But in doing so, he tripped over the plug to the bike and disconnected her from the race.

Mirinda said, "What an idiot!" She did keep going in the race after her bike was reconnected, though she didn't finish in the top three. She held up a sign later on that simply said, "It's Tim's fault."
