Is President Trump To Blame For Couple Who Ingested Chloroquine Phosphate?

CNN reports that a Phoenix area man has died and his wife is being treated after ingesting chloroquine-phosphate in an attempt to prevent catching COVID-19. The report blames President Trump.

Trump has called chloroquine, and the closely-related hydroxychloroquine, potential game changers in the fight against Covid-19.

"HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE & AZITHROMYCIN, taken together, have a real chance to be one of the biggest game changers in the history of medicine," he tweetedSaturday.

Because one drug called hydroxcholoroquine has 3 of the same syllables as chloroquine-phosphate there is absolutely no reasonable way to blame the President if someone replaced a medicine with something they used to clean their fish tank. Yes the reason the woman had chloroquine-phosphate is because she used it to clean her fish tank. Further the President has always said it was to reverse or at least reduce symptoms of people suffering with COVID-19. That means it could save lives. No one has suggested that it would prevent you from catching it.

It's like if someone said 'instead of using chemicals on a frying pan try a healthier alternative like like butter'. Then you complain that your kid ended up in the hospital and your eggs were ruined because peanut butter.
