An Arkansas elementary school recently had a “Dress as your favorite person” day and one kindergarten student chose to go as his school’s security officer.Easton Blocker’s mom says he sees Officer Jeffery Cross as a hero and a best friend, so that’s who he wanted to be.
The five-year-old got his own version of Officer Cross’ uniform shirt that read “junior security” and he was delighted. But he wasn’t the only one. Seeing Easton all dressed up like him meant a lot to Officer Cross as well. He says, “I actually shed a tear. To know a young man like that looks up to me, it makes me appreciate my job more.”
Easton says "He is a great man! He keeps us safe and he smiles at us and tells us to have a good day. I hope when I grow up that I can help kids like he does".
