Track and field athlete Flo Filion Meiler is breaking records at the tender age of 85. Since retiring at 65, Flo trains and competes in various events – including pole-jumping. “I did see some ladies doing the pole vault. And they weren't going very high. And I said to myself, ‘Wow, that looks like it could be very challenging. I want to try that,” she said.

The Vermont resident has traveled around the world to compete. She won five gold medals and a two silver medals at the World Masters Athletics Championships Indoor in Poland last year, AND recently set a world record in the 4X200 relay!

This octogenarian isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Flo is proud of her accomplishments and her age. Now that’s she’ll be competing in the 85-89 year old bracket, the athlete said it gives her chance to break more records. “If the good Lord gives me my health maybe I'll keep going until 100,” she says.
