Liam Neeson's Nephew Dies Five Years After Tragic 20-Foot Fall

Liam Neeson's nephew has passed away, five years after suffering a 20-foot fall that resulted in a serious head wound.

Back in 2014, Ronan Sexton, a son of the actor's sister Bernadette, sustained an injury during an evening out with colleagues in Brighton, Southern England. Sexton had taken a spill from the top of a phone booth he'd climbed that night when he lost his balance, prompting medical treatment at a local hospital and a neurological center thereafter.

According to The Belfast Telegraph, who released the story first, Sexton died over the weekend in the Northern Ireland village of Cushendall surrounded by family. He was 35.

Neeson's nephew was the youngest of six siblings, and sadly, not the first family member the Taken performer has lost to similar tragedies.

Sexton's departure is a tragic reminder of the memory of the 66-year-old's deceased wife of 15 years, Natasha Richardson, who died at age 45 of blunt force trauma after falling while skiing at Quebec's Mont Tremblant in March 2009.

Richardson was survived by Neeson and their two sons, Daniel and Micheál, who were 12 and 13 when she passed.

Neeson detailed his heartbreaking goodbye to his spouse in October 2018.

"I was told she was brain dead. And seeing this X-ray it was, like, 'Wow,'" he disclosed at the time. "But obviously she was on life support and stuff. And I went in to her and told her I loved her. Said, 'Sweetie, you’re not coming back from this. You’ve banged your head. It’s – I don’t know if you can hear me, but that’s – this is what’s gone down. And we’re bringing ya back to New York. All your family and friends will come.' And that was more or less it."
