Florida officials have just finished up a major two-week initiative that helped locate or recover 122 missing children. Most of the children, who ranged from 23 months to 17 years old, were found across major Florida cities, but others were found outside the state, and two children were recovered from outside the country.
Leaders describe “Operation Home For The Holidays” as the largest mission of its kind. It involved extensive coordination across state and federal groups. Many of the children had faced harm and the state plans to fully pursue the adults responsible.
At a press conference in Tampa on Monday, one state official called the operation a victory for the entire state. The operation led to several arrests and more arrests are expected.
