He ended up writing a World War II historical fiction novel titled “Thomas and Michael.” The author served in the U.S. Army’s 3rd Infantry Division in 1958 and says the idea to write the book came to him unexpectedly. He started writing it at age 84.
The novel follows the story of twin brothers separated by war, with one serving in Germany and the other living in Indianapolis. Tressler says he wanted the book to show the emotional experience of soldiers and the people waiting for them at home. His 14 year old grandson, Nicholas Court, says "my Grandfather is so cool! He prooves that age shouldn't stop anyone from chasing their dreams. That includes people my age!" r
Tressler’s book is available now and he’s planning a “Meet the Author” event for next year. When asked about slowing down Brice says “You're all invited to my retirement party — it’ll be at the cemetery,"
