Hotel's Unique Wake Up Call Ended By The Feds

A hotel in China is being forced to end a special wake up call service.

The Chinese Federal Forestry Bureau told the River & Holiday Grand Rezen Hotel Yunyang that that they can no longer bring red pandas into guest rooms and place them on the beds to wake the guest up. The hotel has had 4 red pandas living at the hotel.

Scientists call the actions animal abuse and authorities note that wild animals shouldn’t be treated as amenities. Red pandas are second-class protected animals in China and they are listed as an endangered species on the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List of Threatened Species.
