2-thousand engaged or married U.S. women were asked to grade their engagement based on how successful they thought it was. And it turns out, only 39% of Americans give theirs a perfect score.
- While only those two in five rate their engagement an “A+,” the average respondent grades theirs an “A-.”
- But 29% confess that their proposal just didn’t meet their expectations.
- Only 36% of those polled say their partner got down on one knee to pop the question.
- While 50% of respondents say they wouldn’t change anything if they could do their proposal all over again, the average person admits they would change two things about theirs.
- The top thing people would change is the location of the proposal (35%), followed by the way the proposer presented the ring (18%).
- Others would change the involvement of family and friends (16%), the weather (15%), the words their partner said (13%), and 10% would change the ring.
- That number isn’t so bad considering that two-thirds (68%) of respondents didn’t shop for the ring together, the partner proposing just trusted their instincts to choose something they thought their partner would like.
