This summer, Sarah Love, her husband, and their six children, including their newborn son Lincoln, were enjoying a trip to SeaWorld Orlando when Sarah bumped into a man. They both said excuse me and then he looked at her baby. The man introduced himself as a firefighter and said he didn’t want to startle them, but he was concerned about their baby. He noticed Lincoln appeared extremely jaundiced and recommended they seek medical attention, though he said it might not be serious.
The Love's did take it serious and took Lincoln to the emergency room at Orlando Health Horizon hospital in Polk County. They ran tests which confirmed that Lincoln had Alagille syndrome and required immediate surgery!
The newborn was in the hospital for over a month and actually needed several surgeries. Alagille syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that can affect the liver, kidneys, heart, and skeletal system.
Sarah tells WESH-TV "I absolutely think it was our heavenly father putting the right people in the right place at the right time. I think it was a lot of courage on his part. I'm sure there was some hesitation or unsure feelings on his part that he should speak up. If he by chance sees this please know how thankful we are and would love to thank you in person if that's possible".
