Seattle Police Praise Armed Citizen

Sunday morning, around 10:30 a pregnant woman was being punched in the face by the presumed father to be inside a parked vehicle at Seattle's Lincoln Park. According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD), an armed man intervened while the woman was being assaulted inside a vehicle.

He got the woman out of the car and despite pulling his pistol on the attacker the man kept coming after her. Seattle Police tells KIRO-TVThe armed male retreated approximately 40 or 50 yards into the park, telling the suspect to basically back away and stop pursuing them. Ultimately, the male shot the suspect while he was protecting the felony DV victim".

The suspect was shot once in the hip and was taken to the hospital, where he’s expected to recover. He’ll face charges of felony domestic violence assault. The pregnant woman, who’s four months along, was checked out at the hospital and both she and the baby are fine. As for the man who shot him, he was arrested and taken to headquarters while they did an investigation. 4 hours later he was released and thanked by many of the cops for helping to make their city a safer place.
