A group called "The Thousand Dollar Breakfast Club" surprised a Massachusetts waitress with a $2,050 tip. Formed earlier this year, the club consists of members who each contribute a hundred dollars with the aim of collectively tipping a server over a thousand dollars. Richard Brooks, a member of the club, says the purpose of the club is simply to brighten a server's day.
Sori Kola, a 27-year-old waitress at My Diner in Boston, became the most recent lucky recipient of the club's generosity. She’s been working at My Diner for nearly five years and was overwhelmed with emotion when she received the big tip. "I'm very shocked. I did not expect it at all," an emotional Sori tells Inside Edition. "I never expected it. I'm so thankful, I'm so blessed. God shows His love in all sorts of ways and I have been praying for help. These people did the Lord's work today and I'm so appreciative of them"
Sori says she'll use the cash to replace her dying vehicle.
Brooks says he gets lots of requests to join the group, but with 30 members already, he instead encourages people to start their own clubs in their own towns and cities.
