Man Hops In Strangers Car To Stop Car Jacking

Ocala, Florida, a man allegedly started his day off by robbing a convenience store, then, according to police, he broke into a woman’s home, stealing her purse, cellphone, and car from the garage. Ocala Police spotted the suspect later that day and he led them on a high-speed pursuit that ended with the suspect crashing the stolen car.

The man ran from the crash to a Starbucks, where he carjacked a pregnant woman in the drive-thru. What the man didn’t anticipate was Shane Spicer being in the drive-thru line behind the car. Spicer, an Army veteran, jumped out of his car and into the passenger’s seat next to the carjacker, forcing the suspect on the run again. But Spicer was right behind the man, quickly caught up with him, and pinned him against a wall until police arrived moments later.

Now, Spicer is rightfully being hailed as a hero. After the incident, he was a little out of breath, but otherwise unscathed. He believes it’s important to help people out when you can. “I feel like if you’ve got the ability to watch out for someone, that you should,” Spicer says, “I would just hope that someone would do the same for my family.”
