This past weekend, some young women stole a Lightning McQueen scooter from in front of a Walmart in Lawrence, Kansas. It belonged to a seven-year-old autistic boy named Brantley. Brantley was devastated and inconsolable according to both the Police and his mother
Surveillance photos of the theft show three women taking the scooter. Lawrence police shared the pics online in the hope that the public would have information leading to the scooter’s return. Those went viral within a few hours. There was even a Facebook page started by someone called Return Brantley's Scooter. As the people of Lawrence set out to find who did this one of the women in the pics returned the scooter to Police.
She claims they thought it was abandoned and the police say they won't press charges. Brantley’s mother says she doesn't believe the women's excuse and she’d like to see the thieves face some kind of consequence, but what’s more important is that Brantley now has his beloved scooter back.
