Everyone panic! All football fans seem to love a good chicken wing so this Sunday is when the most wings are typically consumed on Super Bowl Sunday. The Georgia Poultry Federation says party spreads may be lacking the popular game day food this year. Apparently, a chicken wing shortage is possible due to demand during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is largely because wings are delivery-friendly, which has been a plus for restaurants while in-person dining is limited. Americans eat around one-point-four BILLION chicken wings on a typical Super Bowl Sunday but we may only have a billion available to be consumed this Super Bowl Sunday. The definition of first world problems.
Mike Giles, President of the Georgia Poultry Federation says reserve your wings now with your favorite restaurant or buy them at the store before Friday when it may be too late!
