Tough weekend for 55 year old Curtis Zimmerman. He got drunk and then challenged his juvenile son to an arm-wrestling contest at their home in Florence KY according to a post from the Boone County Sheriff's Dept.
When Zimmerman lost multiple times to his son, he became agitated and fired two shots at his son as the boy was walking up the stairs to his room. Neighbors called police.
Curtis told deputies he fired his gun into the ceiling so he shouldn't be in trouble, but would not allow them into the home... resulting in an eight-hour standoff.
Curtis was injured when police finally did break into the home and has been in the hospital the last few days. He will be transferred to the Boone County Detention Center once he is released from the hospital.
