Disney World closed on March 16th and is scheduled to reopen on July 15th.
With Florida now past the 100-thousand case mark for COVID-19 and climbing, some Disney World workers are trying to keep the park closed with a petition.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that the petition is asking executives to reconsider plans to reopen in July. As of this morning, the petition had 4,923 signatures.
While 78-thousand workers would restart their jobs, the concern among some is bringing in the guests. Disneyland in California is facing even harsher push back as the workers there are also asking for a delay in opening.
Disney hasn’t commented.
