Lots of parents are looking for ways to keep their kids busy while they’re at home sheltering in place and one California mom came up with a creative idea. Daphne Sashin reached out to her neighbors in Mountain View and asked them to use chalk to make drawings on their sidewalks and driveways.
More than 50 homes in their neighborhood got in on the fun and their community was able to interact, while still social distancing. It got families outside to create the art and then they biked or walked around later to view the artwork others made.
“It brought people together in a safe way,” Sashin says, “even though we can’t be physically together.”
