After the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl, defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi celebrated his team’s victory by making “snow angels” in the confetti on the field. But then the star player did something to help animals in need - he paid off the adoption fees for every single dog up for adoption at allKC Pet Projectlocations. In case you're wondering it's about $150 per dog.
And it’s not the first time he’s worked with them, after each Chiefs win during the season, Nnadi would pay off the adoption fee for some dogs in the shelter. So far that's been about 100 dogs. The Derrick Nnadi Foundation has also done work with the Ronald McDonald House and Boys and Girls Club. And the shelter says all dogs funded by the player during the season have now found homes.
According to a spokesperson for KC Pet Project "We've had an average of 20 new dogs coming into our shelter every day recently so this comes at a great time as our shelter is full of wonderful pets looking for homes."
