In Phoenix footage from a Department of Transportation camera shows a couple pushing a stroller in a crosswalk just as an SUV runs a red light through the intersection! Just feet away from killing the family when another car slammed into the SUV. Police say the driver of the car, 27 year old Shannon Vivar, suffered non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV, 23 year old Ernesto Otanez Oveso, charged with DUI, aggravated assault, leaving the scene of a collision, aggravated assault along with a weapon, a felony warrant in a probation violation, and three misdemeanor warrants.was arrested on DUI and charges.
Shannon says she can't be a hero because she didn't even see the SUV before hitting it. But believe that God's plan had her there to save that family. "Even though it wasn’t my intention to, the way I see it was, it was meant to happen that way. I heard my mom scream from the passenger seat but still never saw the Jeep; which is great because had I seen it, I probably would have turned to try and avoid getting hit, which would have sent me plowing into that family! I don’t remember if I sped up or pushed the brake, but once I got hit, I was lost. Yes I'm injured and my car is totaled, but this is a blessing. God used me to save a family."
Shortly after that interview God blessed Shannon again. Carvana in Tempe presented her with a 2018 Chevy Cruze! When she got inside they told her to check inside the glove box. There she found a trip to Disneyland for her and her three-year-old son, Drason.
