BFF's Mini Horse and Goose Get Adopted Together

Waffles the mini horse and Hemingway the farm goose were rescued by the Bucks County SPCA in Pennsylvania, along with two peacocks and a dozen ducks. They were living in “really filthy, unsanitary conditions,” and were looking for a forever home.

But Waffles and Hemingway were besties and when shelter staff came to take care of them, the goose flapped his wings and honked at them to show he was protective of his friend. “Their body language made it obvious that they’re friends and that they better stay together,” explains Cindy Kelly of the Bucks County SPCA. Apparently Waffles had an infection and Hemingway grew protective of his new buddy, which strengthened their bond.

The SPCA was hoping the animal BFFs would be adopted together and now they have been. Shelter staff says the people who adopted Waffles and Hemingway are experienced pet owners and will keep the unlikely best friends together.
