Local Hospital Relaxing Visitor Policy

For weeks now people have been banned from visiting patients or even accompanying patients into hospitals. Now Prisma Health is beginning to relax that policy. WLTX reports that one visiting support person will be allowed for each patient undergoing outpatient procedures that requires anesthesia or moderate/deep sedation. Both the patient and their companion will be screened upon entry to the facility and will be required to wear face masks. The companion must wear a face mask the entire time while in the facility and adhere to distanced seating. If the patient needs to remain overnight, the companion will be notified via cell phone when the patient is ready to be discharged.
