Gym Owner Gives Away The Equipment To Help Members

Gym owner Drew Whitted had to shut down his Be Strong Gym last month, but he didn’t want his clients to give up on their fitness goals. So he told members of his Bloomington, Illinois gym to come get equipment to use at home for free while they’re closed. Whitted said "It was awesome! We cleared the gym out in under two hours."

About 80 members took him up on the offer and Whitted says the gym distributed about $40-thousand worth of equipment including barbells, weights, exercise bikes, and rowers. His staff of 8 helped people choose what they’d need and the gym has been having online training sessions every day so members can work out together virtually. And he says he expects the equipment to flow back in when the gym reopens because the members will be excited to workout together in person again.

As for the staff, "my staff will not miss a single dollar for their paycheck for as long as it takes".
