Savannah Officer Buys Car Seats For Mom In Need

Officer Austin Neumann pulled a woman over on an expired tag charge and while speaking with her noticed that her one-year-old twins weren’t properly restrained in car seats. The 21-year-old mom explained that her car had been stolen a few days earlier and with it went her baby seats. Officer Neumann confirmed that her car had been stolen and felt compassion for her. He is about to become a dad soon and was imagining what it was like for people with less money than he and his wife. He radioed another car to come help and gave Corporal Steve Bland some money to go get two new car seats for her twins while officers Neumann and William Daniels entertained the kids. Bland and Daniels decided to chip in as well so they split the cost 3 ways.

They went above and beyond to help this woman out when she really needed it and the Savannah Police Department shared the story in aFacebook post.

"In the end the mother drove away with a completely different outlook on police and two brand-new seats," they write alongside a photo of Neumann holding one of the twins. "Thank you for not only getting this little one a safe car seat, but also taking the time to be his new friend!"
