Kid Rock Releases New Songs, Videos, Claims Senate Run Is Legit

This week, Kid Rock launched a site supporting his run for a Senate seat in Michigan and now, one day later, he's released two new songs and videos.

The first track is a rap-rock song called "Greatest Show On Earth" that has a video featuring clips from live shows throughout Rock's career. It ends with another announcement - that Kid Rock will head out on the "Greatest Show On Earth Tour" next year.

The other song has a country sound to it and is called "Po-Dunk." That video sees the singer with bikini babes shooting guns and pregnant women smoking cigarettes.

It all has people asking if the political run is just a promotional tool, but the 46-year-old set everyone straight in a recent post. In it, he addressed reports that he hasn't filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission and that his campaign site is tied to Warner Brothers.

Rock explained:

Once again the press is wrong. First of all, I’ve got 15 days from my announcement to file paperwork with the FEC! Second, I’m not signed to Warner Bros!!! - which simple fact-checking would have revealed. I have recently worked out a unique deal with BMG, Broken Bow, CAA and Live Nation to release music ON MY TERMS. Like politicians write books during their campaigns, I'm planning on putting out music during mine and IT ALL STARTS TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT. It's not a hoax, it's a strategy and marketing 101! No plans for an album or anything else that has been the usual norm in the music business OR politics.

When announcing his "Greatest Show on Earth Tour," Rock used the words "Are you scared?" No word if that refers to the trek or his political run. Stay up to date here.
